MATCH REPORT | PANTHERS EDGE PAST ROOSTERS

Halifax Super League team squeezed home against a very resilient London Roosters side 46-40.

In a game which was a feisty but engaging encounter, 3 Tries from Jeremy Bourson, 2 from Keiron Johnson with Wayne Boardman, Joseph Calcott and Rob Hawkins scoring one each, 6 being converted by Hawkins plus a penalty brought home the two league points and solidified Fax’s second place in the league.

In the earlier game, Halifax Reserves played Bradford Bulls from the Championship League with a much changed team due to holidays and illness and included two debutants to the game.

They made a slow start and were 0-14 down inside the 1st quarter of the game as they saw little of the ball. However when they got a good share of the ball, tries from Finlay O’Neill (2 ) converting both, and Tom Green, scoring a try on his return, gave Halifax 16-14 half time lead.

The 2nd half saw Jordan Holt (2) Green ( 2 more ) plus a Julio Hernendes try with O’Neill converting three scores, and a penalty given them a 46-30 result.

Our Super League side are back in action this weekend as they take on Wigan at home Sunday 25th KO 2-30pm at Sedbergh Leisure Centre.
