HALAFIHI PENS NEW ONE YEAR FAX DEAL

Halifax Panthers are delighted to announce that Vila Halafihi has signed a new one year contract extension with the club, keeping him at The Shay until the end of the 2026 Betfred Championship season.

The 31 year old hooker, who can also play loose forward, joined the Panthers midway through the 2025 season after coming out of retirement to make 9 first team appearances in blue and white. And now Halafihi was pleased to have found a new lease of life under Kyle Eastmond which led him to penning another deal at The Shay.

“I’m really looking forward to staying for another year and getting the ball rolling with pre season”, said Halafihi. “I jumped at the chance to be involved with the club half way through last year and when the opportunity came to extend my stay, it was a no brainer.

“What Kyle, Jy-mel and Tabs created with the group last year was special and as a group we want to carry on that same form into this year. With a few new additions, we believe we can be competing at the top of the table again. My favourite memory last year was the first game back at The Shay, with the fans out in full force. It was a great atmosphere to help us secure play offs!”
