GARSIDE JOINS RAMS ON SHORT TEAM LOAN DEAL

Halifax Panthers can today announce that back rower Matt Garside has joined Betfred Championship side Dewsbury Rams on a short term loan deal.

The 31 year old has struggled to break into the matchday 17 for Simon Grix’s side in recent weeks after a string of solid performances from the Panthers pack. And Fax head coach Grix sees the move as the perfect opportunity for Garside to get some much needed Championship game time under his belt.

“With not playing for few weeks now and some lads in good form, it makes sense to get a bit of game time over at Dewsbury. Gars is a good pro who will do a good job for Dewsbury and this allows us to get him some time in before we play Dewsbury ourselves after Barrow and then we can assess how the picture looks then and re-evaluate.”

Garside will go straight into contention for the Rams trip to Odsal to face Bradford Bulls on Sunday. He will be ineligible to play against the Panthers the following week.
