DOUGLAS DEPARTS PANTHERS
Halifax Panthers can confirm that Brandon Douglas has left the club with immediate effect to join Bradford Bulls. Bradford have activated the Super League clause in Brandon’s contract and he has decided to secure a release from the Panthers.
The 28 year old made 50 first team appearances in blue and white scoring 10 tries, but will now call time on his career at The Shay to take up the Super League offer.
On the departure, Douglas commented: “I want to thank everyone at Halifax Panthers for all the support over the past couple of years. I’ve really enjoyed my rugby during my time with the club. This was shown when I signed a new two-year contract midway through the season, committing my future to the Panthers.”
“As with many sportsmen, it’s always the vision to play and compete at the highest level possible. When my agent, Jimmy, brought offers of full-time Super League contracts, after much consideration I felt it was an opportunity I might not get again. I spoke with Kyle and senior players within the club as soon as the opportunity arose, and it was received with nothing but support and well wishes. With that, and the backing of my family, I’ve decided that I must take this opportunity.”

They’ve created a culture at the club that’s given it a real buzz everyone involved can feel.
