FAX LAD FOSTER JOINS HOMETOWN PANTHERS

Halifax Panthers are delighted to announce the deadline day signing on Keelan Foster on a deal until the end of the 2024 Betfred Championship season.

A former Siddal junior, Foster joins his hometown club after securing a release from his contact with fellow Championship side Doncaster RLFC, where he spent three seasons including their triumphant League 1 promotion winning campaign last year.

The 23 year old prop forward will link up with Liam Finn’s men with immediate effect, and Foster was keen to get started with his hometown club.

“I’m really pleased to have signed at Halifax”, said Foster. “I’m excited to get started, this is my hometown club which I will be honoured and proud to play for and represent. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in at training, meeting the lads and having an impact on the field.”

Head Coach Liam Finn commented: “Signing Keelan is another sign of our intent to sign players with a desire to improve and to be a part of a group who all want to pull in the same direction.”

“Keelan is a local lad who’s desire to play for the panthers is such that he has backed himself to sign a short term deal to try and earn a longer term future at the club. He’s a big prop who carries the ball hard and is only going to keep improving and at 24 has his best years ahead of him.”
