Women’s Team

Established in 2019 Halifax Women’s Team started their journey in the RFL Women’s competition – League 1.

Forming the team from an elite choice of players from Brighouse Rangers, Wibsey Warriors and Queensbury ARLFC.

Halifax started to build a powerful squad; including signings from Leeds, Wakefield, Castleford and Bradford as well as picking up brand new players who had never played rugby league before!

The women’s season is under way and hasn’t been the most successful, however with a strong preseason the club has high hopes for the 2024 season!

The 2023 season has been a transitional period for the women’s team, losing head coach Anthony McCarthy part way through the season due to personal health reasons and various player injuries have played a big part in the lack of competitive wins.

Now, heading into 2024 with England international and Leeds Rhinos superstar Amy Hardcastle as assistant coach, and a newly appointment Head Coach – which is still to be revealed….the women’s team look to be in good hands!

Trials took place on the 2nd of December with existing players and new players coming to grab a shirt for the new season.

As the women’s team is now in the clubs hands, we ensure this season is one not to be missed!

The Women’s train weekly on Wednesday evenings and play games on Sunday afternoons.

With access to professional physio support, strength and conditioning coaching and rehabilitation sessions throughout the season.
