Established in 2019 Halifax Women’s Team started their journey in the RFL Women’s competition – League 1.
The great community links saw a base of women transferring from Brighouse Rangers Ladies & Wibsey Warriors U16’s teams and with over 30 women that turned out for the open trials Halifax started to build a powerful squad; including signings from Leeds, Wakefield and Bradford as well as picking up brand new players who had never played rugby league before!
After competing in the Challenge Cup and gaining promotion to Championship in their first year, the team have recently appointed new head coach Anthony McCarthy in a bid to aid them in their 2023 campaign and hope to continue to build and compete at the next level.
The Women train weekly during the season at their base in Ovenden and play games from there on Sunday afternoons.
