STAR MAN MCCOMB EXTENDS STAY WITH HOMETOWN PANTHERS

Halifax Panthers are delighted to announce that Zack McComb has signed a new one year contract extension with the club, keeping him at The Shay until the end of the 2024 Betfred Championship season.

The 28 year old former Siddal junior will enter his fourth season with his hometown club after joining from Sheffield Eagles in 2021,

McComb enjoyed a fantastic year in 2023, picking up the club’s Star Man Award at our end of season dinner in September to add to a Wembley winners medal following August’s triumph in the 1895 Cup Final against Batley Bulldogs, a win which preceded the birth of his first child 2 days later.

And Zack was pleased to be continuing to pull on the famous blue and white hoops in 2024.

“I’m absolutely made up to be here for another year”, said McComb. “Where else would I rather be when it’s my home town club and five minutes from my house. I’m excited about 2024, I hope and believe we can replicate what we did in the 1895 cup under Finny and think we’ll learn from our mistakes in the league for this coming season! Let the boys play.”

New Panthers head coach Liam Finn added his thoughts following the contract extension.

“Zak is a quality professional and one of the hardest trainers I’ve seen and he’s getting the rewards for that on the field, producing high quality performances and the hard work he does coming out of our own end of the field is appreciated by his teammates.”
