SCOTT GRIX JOINS RHINOS AS ASSISTANT COACH

Halifax Panthers can today confirm Head of Strength and Conditioning Scott Grix has joined Super League grand finalists Leeds Rhinos on a full time basis as assistant coach.

Brother of head coach Simon, 38 year old Scott had been with the clubs backroom staff since he retired from the game after the 2021 season.

“I would like to thank the Panthers & Simon for a thoroughly enjoyable last 12 months”, said Grix. “Whilst I have coached in various forms over the last few years, to try and make an impact at my home town club was one I relished. The opportunity to continue my journey back in a full time environment at such a great club was too good to miss out on. I will still very much be a part of the Panthers family and wish everyone the best in what will again be an exciting year for the club.”

Simon Grix added:  “Obviously , professionally and personally sad to see Scott move on. He has a really good opportunity at a great club with great resources that we just can’t match at present. I know he leaves us somewhat torn but won’t be a stranger to us. He has definitely made us all better and left his prints. I’m sure he’ll be a success and hope we cross paths professionally again.”

He will still be a familiar face around The Shay as his time allows but we’d like to thank Scott for his hard work and dedication throughout his time with the Panthers and wish him all the very best in his new role at Headingley.
