ROBINSON TO DEPART PANTHERS

Halifax Panthers can confirm Connor Robinson has left the club to take up a contract with a club outside the Betfred Championship.

The halfback joined the club from rivals York City Knights ahead of the 2020 season and played a regular role in the squad until an unfortunate foot injury saw him forced to the sidelines.

Last month Halifax Panthers were approached by a club, who enquired about Connor’s availability for the 2022 season.

Connor was contracted to the club for the upcoming season but given the exciting additions made to Simon Grix’s squad for next year, coupled with the player’s wish to take on a new challenge, it was agreed that we would allow Connor to explore his options and take up a new deal elsewhere.

Ian Croad, Football Director said: “We would like to thank Connor for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his next move. He will always be welcome at The Shay when time allows for him to visit.”

Head coach Simon Grix added: “Connor has been a pleasure throughout a difficult year. We wish him all the best at his new club.”
