Halifax Panthers slumped to a bitterly disappointing 0-46 defeat to rivals Sheffield Eagles, the first time Fax have been nilled at home in a regular season game since 2003, drawing early exits from home fans who had seen enough and boos from disgruntled fans who stayed till the end.

After conceding 36 points without reply in the Second Half away to the Widnes Vikings last week, Liam Finn and his charges would have been looking to shore up a leaky defence. After the first 20 minutes, it looked to have worked as the score remained 0-0 before the Eagles grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.

Aaron Murphy, James Glover and a Ben Jones-Bishop brace saw the visitors race into the lead before half time with Cory Aston converting 3 goals for a 0-22 advantage that they never looked like losing.

The Second Half was unfortunately more of the same, the Panthers never looking like scoring and the Eagles being ruthless in both attack and defence. Vila Halafihi going over from dummy half under the posts 5 minutes after the break prompting some Fax fans to head for the exits.

Matty Marsh, Glover with his 2nd and Kyle Wood returning back to his old club after retiring at the end of 2023 scoring the tries, all converted by Aston to give the Eagles the spoils and the Panthers the boos from the terraces after a 0-46 scoreline meaning Fax have conceded 82 points in their last 3 halves of Rugby without reply.
