KARA COLVIN TAKES COMMUNITY MANAGER ROLE

Given the recent news of Jack Duffy departing the club and the country to pursue a new life in Canada, the club can today announce that Kara Colvin has been successful in her application to become the Community Manager for the Community Panthers CIC.

The CIC was set up in January and has engaged with over 2,400 children since March and will continue to work with local schools, community clubs, community groups and adult based sport participation throughout the year. Kara will now take the responsibility of the day to day and long term strategies of the CIC (Community Interest Company) and manage current and new projects such as Try High, which will engage 320 children in activities this Summer!

“I’m really excited to take on this new role,” said Colvin. “I understand at times it will be challenging but I’m more than prepared and determined to expand the brand, engage old and new fans and advertise what a great club we are. Managing the CIC is a great opportunity for me to be able to develop the sport throughout Calderdale and continue to establish a strong presence throughout the grassroot level of rugby league.”

And the departing Jack Duffy was happy to see the Community side of the club left in more than capable hands.

“It’s obviously with a heavy heart that I’ll say goodbye to what has been a fantastic 16 months with the Panthers and I’d like to thank every single person that has welcomed me with open arms! I know the CIC is in good hands with Kara and I look forward to seeing from afar the impact the CIC continues to make in our community and beyond.”

Steve Lambert, Halifax Panthers Commercial Director continued: “Jack’s work as Community Manager has redefined the Panthers standing within the Community. His enthusiasm and abilities have taken us
to a new level. We had a great response to the role but the qualities demonstrated by Kara will give us the very best chance to both consolidate and grow our community activities.”

The club would like to thank Jack for all his efforts during his tenure and extend our best wishes to Kara in her new role.
