SIMON GRIX REFLECTS ON YESTERDAYS PRE-SEASON CLASH WITH OLDHAM
Panthers head coach Simon Grix seemed satisfied with yesterday’s pre-season performance and the hit out in general after over a year without a 80 minute match.
Assessing the game as a whole Grix had these words to say,
“It was a good fitness session, the first full 80 for 12 months, so good to dust ourselves off.”
“On the whole it was a mixed bag…some really good signs, but I thought we were guilty of getting a bit ahead of ourselves at times and our ball control needs to be better.”
“That said we have a number of new faces who are all finding their feet, plenty to work on but we will be better for it.”
“There were some strong performances in amongst, Will Calcott has worked really hard and has gained in confidence from that, he was good for us today along with our French duo, Gadwin (Springer) & Kev (Larroyer).”
Next up for the Panthers it’s Challenge Cup action when we welcome the Batley Bulldogs to the Shay next Saturday, 7.30pm.
The game will be streamed live on OuRLeague once again and will be free for Panthers season ticket holders and £4.95 for non season ticket holders (£10 on day of game).
