GRIX DANCES AGAIN

Halifax RLFC are pleased to announce that Scott Grix has signed a new deal with the club ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship campaign.

The 36 year old enters the third year of his second spell with the club.

Older brother of Fax head coach Simon, Full back Scott will go again for another season with his hometown club.

“I’m delighted to have signed to stay for next year’, said Scott. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with my brother and do my best to help mould the future of the club. It could potentially be my last year and to do that at my hometown club in my testimonial year is pretty exciting. Having lost a few senior players, I’m looking forward to being a part of the next generation and seeing what we can do.”

Scott left a coaching role at Super League side Huddersfield Giants to prolong his playing career at Halifax. And Fax Boss Simon was happy to have a player of Scott’s calibre in his squad for 2021.

“Scott has been a great addition for the club since returning to where a long career as a professional began. He brings invaluable experience and professionalism with almost 400 games under his belt. Scott, although in the twilight of his career, is up there with the fittest in the squad providing an example to the younger members of the squad as they aim for longevity themselves. Another local lad who will wear the jersey with pride in 2021.”

Grix has seen his testimonial year extended to November 2021 due to COVID forcing the cancellation of his scheduled events.
