FAIRBANK PENS TWO-YEAR DEAL

Halifax RLFC are pleased to announce that Jacob Fairbank has signed a new deal with the club ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship campaign. Hometown stalwart Fairbank signs a contract which will keep him at The Shay for at least another 2 years.

The fearless forward joined from Huddersfield Giants midway through the 2015 season and has been an important part of the Fax pack in recent times. 30 year old Fairbank has 193 senior career appearances under his belt so far. And the former Elland junior couldn’t wait for play to resume this winter to further his tally.

“I’m really happy to have a 2 year extension with Halifax. I’m proud to be playing for my hometown club and can’t wait to be pulling on the jersey again. During my time at the club, I’ve enjoyed some of the best parts of my career and after speaking to Simon the other day, I can’t wait to get back to it with the boys after this long lay off we have had.”

And Head Coach Simon Grix was glad to have the hometown lad back on board as he continues to shape his 2021 squad.

“Bobby is a player his teammates really appreciate. He has a high workrate, which is often overlooked as he is consistent in this area. He’ll remind me of this I am sure, but he is skilful with a good offload and short passing game that we hope to see plenty of in 2021.”

“He’s another local who’s looking forward to representing his home town into the future.”
