DUO DEPART PANTHERS

PANTHERS CONFIRM DEPARTURE OF DUO

Halifax Panthers can confirm Oliver Waite and Fraser Stroud have left the club by mutual consent to seek playing opportunities elsewhere.

The duo made their senior debuts in our inaugural 1895 cup fixture against Sheffield Eagles but found game time limited after.

Both Waite and Stroud were products of the Halifax reserve grade side and had earned first team contracts for 2021 but head coach Simon Grix believes both players need to be playing regularly and that could not be guaranteed at the Panthers.

Simon Grix on the departing duo,

“Both Oliver and Fraser have been good to have at the club but unfortunately their time with us has come to an end.  After such a long lay off they need to be playing regularly when things open up and and after assessing where they sit in the squad I feel we cannot offer them that. They have added to the group in the time they have been here and been a credit to themselves in their efforts but with no clear path to playing in my team it isn’t in there interests to keep them hanging on. They leave with our thanks and best wishes for the future.”

Everyone at the club would like to thank Oliver and Fraser for all their efforts in the Blue & White and wish them nothing but the best with their futures both in Rugby and outside of the game.
