CROOKS SIGNS PANTHERS EXTENSION

Halifax Panthers are delighted to announce that Ben Crooks has signed a one year contract extension with the club, keeping him at The Shay until the end of the 2024 Betfred Championship season.

The former Hull FC, Castleford Tigers, Leigh Leopards and Hull Kingston Rovers man joined the Panthers mid season from Keighley Cougars, and had a big impact on Simon Grix’s side during his 13 appearances in Fax colours.

The 30 year old three quarter is a seasoned veteran having made over 220 senior appearances during his career. And Crooks was pleased to be continuing his Fax tenure under new head coach Liam Finn.

“I’m really happy to be extending my stay at The Shay”, said Crooks. “Since joining, the team, club and fans have been very welcoming and I’ve enjoyed taking the field in blue and white. I’m now looking forward to working with Finny in preseason and the challenge of 2024.”

New Panthers boss Finn was happy to have Crooks on board for his maiden season as head coach.

“Ben came in last year and added some quality attacking options to our backline. He’s disappointed to pick up an injury in the last 5 minutes of the season but will be working hard to come back better and I’m looking forward to working with him next season.”
