CONTRACT CHAT | Connor Davies to Leave Panthers

Halifax, WEST YORKSHIRE — It is with much sadness that Connor Davies will part ways with the Halifax Panthers at the end of the 2021 season.

A solid grafter who works hard for his teammates and packs a punch in defence. He was selected in the Wales squad for the 2019 Rugby League World Cup 9s competition, winning 5 caps to date to add to his 15 senior Halifax appearances.

Panthers Head Coach, Simon Grix  had this to say,

Connor has made steady progress over the last few years and worked tirelessly on his game. He is an absolute professional, a coaches dream really in terms of his commitment and attitude. In the last few years, between the reserves being bitty, Covid shut down and injury more recently, he has been limited in game time. To make the progress he needs, we both felt it better for Connor to seek out regular game time elsewhere. We have healthy competition here and Connor needs guaranteed minutes, something I cannot guarantee for anyone. However, due to all of the above we will keep an keen eye for the future and certainly wouldn’t rule out a return. I wish him all the best for his next move and hope we cross paths again.
