Connor On Board for 2021

Halifax RLFC are pleased to announce that Connor Davies has signed a new deal with the club ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship campaign.

The 23 year old Welsh International forward will return to The Shay as the latest recruit in Simon Grix’s ranks.

“On next year, first and foremost I’m just keen to get back out there. I’ve made the most of my time off to get myself right after a frustrating injury in pre season. I’m just determined to push on now and perform for the team and on a personal level. It’s been a long time coming, but I’m excite for what’s to come.”

Loose Forward Connor joined Fax through the reserve grade system, rising through the ranks to earn international recognition. He was selected in the Wales squad for the 2019 rugby league world cup 9s competition, winning 5 caps to date to add to his 15 senior Halifax appearances.

He joins his brother Curtis in the Fax pack as Simon Grix continues to put the finishing touches to his squad. And he praised the Welshman’s attitude and commitment.

“Connor like his brother leaves no stone unturned in an effort to better himself, which makes him relatively easy to coach as he is always asking for feedback. He is a mobile, skilful middle who I feel may benefit from the rule changes.”

“Connor, like Curt, now has to force his way into weekly contention in 2021 and I look forward to seeing the contest as he certainly won’t be beaten on effort.”
