Coach’s Corner with Simon Grix

“Well we are edging ever closer to starting our pre season training and I can’t wait to get started.  It’ll be great to be back in that team environment, team dynamics in Rugby League can be pretty unique and at times dysfunctional but I think that is why we love it!!

The lads will be somewhat nervous about what lies ahead as they will be putting themselves through it to get back to fitness after such a long lay off.  They’ll also be nervous getting back into the dressing room craic where a bad one wrong move can set you back!!

There is a hell of a lot of work going on in the background and has been for a while.  Board members new and old working through the many ifs and buts the club and wider game are dealing with. Challenging as this is we all remain optimistic of a brighter future.

Our media team have done a great job of keeping our fanbase entertained with some great content, including videos of some of the more memorable performances over the years.  While looking at the past they haven’t taken their eye off the future.  There are plenty of exciting projects going on behind the scenes which will be shared soon enough.

Recruitment and retention is going really well with a good nucleus of local lads on board.  We have a bit of work to do but hope to have more to share soon.”
