BITTER SWEET FOR SALTY

JAMES SALTONSTALL ON HIS 150TH CAREER APPEARANCE AND LOOKING AHEAD TO THE BRONCOS

James Saltonstall endured a bitter sweet night on Saturday with the Fax flyer making his 150th career appearance with 131 of those coming for his hometown club, but the celebrations ended there as Batley Bulldogs progressed to the next round of the Challenge Cup beating the Panthers 19-6.

We caught up with James to talk about joining the 150 club, the Bulldogs clash and also looking ahead to the visit of London Broncos.

“It was fantastic to play my 150th game against Batley at the weekend. Every time I get to pull on the Halifax shirt is a massive honour and privilege and hopefully there’s still plenty more to come.”

“I am like the majority of you a fan of the club first and was gutted the game didn’t go as planned. I was frustrated with our performance but I am confident in the group we have that we will put things right.”

James Saltonstall mentions putting things right and the squad will get the chance to do just that on Good Friday when we host London Broncos for Betfred Championship Round 1.

Here’s what Salty had to say on next Fridays clash between the Panthers and the Broncos,

“Our next game against London gives us a great opportunity to do that. They are a quality side and we will need to turn up with the correct mentality to beat to them.”

“With getting knocked out of the cup it gives us an extra week to prepare for the game and we will be doing everything required in training to make sure we are ready to get our league campaign off to the best possible start.”
